Advanced Ceramics Research, Inc. (ACR) recently announced that it has received the prestigious R&D 100 award for developing an innovative water-soluble tooling material for use in polymer composite manufacturing. R&D 100 awards are given by R&D Magazine to the 100 most innovative new products of the year. A panel of eight judges selects award recipients from thousands of applications submitted by companies throughout the world. This product and other ACR products patented and marketed under the trade names Aquacore^TM, Aquacast^TM, Aquaseal^TM and Aquafill^TM are new water-soluble, lightweight, environmentally friendly mandrel tooling (mold) materials for use in the manufacturing of fiberglass, carbon fiber and other related composites.
