The 284-page catalog lists more than 1200 new products, including new boronic acids manufactured by Alfa Aesar Synmax in Yantai, China. Alfa Aesar is also the exclusive distributor for research quantities of over 350 novel fluoroaromatics from JRD Fluorochemicals, which has been active in the development of these compounds for some 30 years.

Approximately 20% of all pharmaceuticals and at least 30% of agrochemicals on the market contain fluorine. Among recently introduced products, the proportions are even higher. Although a range of more readily handled and selective fluorinating agents is available, in many cases the target molecule can reportedly be attained in fewer steps by using fluorinated building blocks available from commercial sources.
