MoreJinghong Fan, professor of mechanical engineering in the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University (AU), is the author of a new textbook, Multiscale Analysis on Deformation and Failure of Materials. Published by John Wiley and Sons, the textbook is part of a series, “Microsystems and Nanotechnology,” and is intended for undergraduate and graduate students. Fan completed the book during his sabbatical in the fall of 2009.
A member of the AU faculty since 2000, Fan previously worked as a senior research scientist at Georgia Tech and has taught at the University of Tennessee, the University of Cincinnati, and Chongqing University. He was also the director of the Laboratory on Constitutive Laws of Engineering Materials at Chongqing University.
