Dr. Subrata Saha, professor of biomaterials in Alfred University's School of Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science, has been selected to receive the Dr. Chandra R. Sharma Award from the Society for Biomaterials and Artificial Organs in India. Saha, who joined the Alfred faculty last year, will receive the award during the society's annual meeting in Calcutta, December 13-14. A Fellow of both the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, he was director of the Bioengineering Alliance of South Carolina and a professor of bioengineering at Clemson University for five years prior to joining the Alfred faculty.
