Allied Mineral Products, Inc.'s Electric Vibration System (EVS) was granted a U.S. Patent, "Method of Installing a Refractory Lining," on June 1, 2004. The EVS is a refractory installation system that reduces time, labor and cost by densifying alumina, magnesia and silica dry-vibratables without manually deairing prior to form vibration. This patented invention allows customers to install dry-vibratables in an induction furnace more uniformly and rapidly; installation time and manpower requirements have been reduced by half in many installations. The key to this patent is the innovative application of a variable frequency/variable amplitude electric vibrator that can both de-air and densify Allied's dry-vibratable refractory.
