Almatis Invests in New Equipment to Expand Product Capacity

Almatis recently announced a multi-million-dollar investment in an additional large capacity batch mill for alumina grinding at its Ludwigshafen, Germany, manufacturing facility. This investment will provide expanded supply of high-performance reactive aluminas to the global refractory and ceramic markets. "This is an important day for Almatis. Previously, as Alcoa World Chemicals, we developed with our customers a line of innovative specialty alumina products. This investment signifies the commitment of Almatis ownership to grow our new enterprise to be even more responsive to our customers' needs," said Gangolf Kriechbaum, chief commercial officer. "This additional capacity will give us the flexibility to respond to an ever growing global market demand."
