AMETEK Land: Opacity Measurement/Dust Monitoring System (posted 7/13/09)

Sensitivity, reliability, and flexibility reportedly make the unit ideal for current and future opacity and dust concentration measurement applications.

The Land model 4500 Mk III from AMETEK Land combines the features of three patented technologies to make it an accurate and reliable stack opacity measurement and dust concentration monitoring instrument. The system uses a patented, highly homogeneous, advanced LED light source combined with a patented Flood LED to achieve high levels of stability and accuracy. Its “no-moving-parts” optical system provides the compact dust emissions monitor with exceptional reliability. In addition, the instrument is backed by AMETEK Land’s three-year system warranty and a lifetime light source warranty.

The model 4500 Mk III achieves the highest available performance specifications as defined by ASTM D6216-Standard Practice for Opacity Monitor Manufacturers to Certify Conformance with Design and Performance Specifications. It is suited for all types of industrial applications where dust emissions measurement is required, and it carries a wide range of compliance and performance approvals (including U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).

The instrument’s sensitivity, reliability, and flexibility make it ideal for current and future opacity and dust concentration measurement applications. The model 4500 Mk III also includes options for adapter flanges, air purging and other accessories that make upgrading existing opacity monitoring systems quick and hassle-free.

The device is able to report data as opacity, dust density or optical density. It features a fully automatic zero checking and drift compensation system. An automatic span check mechanism confirms the instrument’s calibration at user-defined intervals.

An integral control panel provides all user setup, control and diagnostic information. Its user menu is intuitive and language-independent. The simultaneous text and icon menu prompts guide users through installation and set up, and eliminate the need to carry an operating manual or laptop to the installation location.
