ASTM C28 Sommittee Will Hold Working Meeting in Nashville

The ASTM C28 committee on advanced ceramics will have a working meeting April 27-28, 2003, in Nashville, Tenn., concurrent with the American Ceramic Society Annual Meeting. The ASTM meeting will start at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Opryland Hotel and will close Monday morning. Major items on the agenda include new standards on thermomechanical fatigue of ceramic composites; slow crack-growth constant stress tests; oxidation testing; ceramic coatings adhesion; and updated test methods on thermal shock, single filament testing and biaxial stress testing. The committee will also discuss a reorganization to focus on ceramic applications with new initiatives on tests for fuel cells, ceramic coatings, nanotechnology, high temperature filters, electronic ceramics, armor, and sensors and actuators. All interested ceramic professionals are welcome to attend.
