ASTM International recently announced the availability of the "Composite Materials Handbook." This newly updated and revised engineering handbook on composite materials is intended for both novices and experts. Developed jointly by ASTM International, the U.S. Army Research Lab, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Materials Science Corp., the handbook provides the latest information on polymer matrix, metal matrix and ceramic matrix composite materials. This extensive work includes standards for test and characterization methods, statistics and databases, as well as guidelines for processing, design, analysis, quality control, repair and material selection.
