Avure Technologies has received the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Achievement Certificate, which is awarded to American businesses that have benefitted from the export services of the department’s Commercial Service to make their first export sale or enter new foreign markets. Assistance from the Commercial Service has been instrumental in helping Avure with market analysis, as well as identifying and recruiting sales agents in Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Germany. The company, based in Kent, Wash., has been working with the department since 2001. Its products are all routinely sold on five continents.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown presented the award to Dave Peltier, Avure’s director of Sales, Americas, at an event highlighting President Barack Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI) this spring. The NEI is expected to double American exports over the next five years, an increase that will support two million American jobs.

“Companies like Avure represent some of the best in American ingenuity and innovation, and I congratulate them on their outstanding export accomplishments,” said Roberta Ford, director of the Commercial Service. “To help accomplish the President's National Export Initiative, we will look to small- and medium-sized companies like Avure Technologies, Inc. to substantially increase, if not double, its export performance within a five-year period, ending 2014.”
