AVX Corp. has expanded its TLJ Series capacitors and developed a new tantalum capacitor that offers higher capacitance vs. voltage ratio bases on stable MnO2 electrodes. The TLJ Series capacitor offers a 33 µF capacitance at 10V on a 1206 footprint with a height below 1 mm. The 33 µF capacitor, which is being released in a K case size, delivers quality sound in small handheld devices.
“The AVX capacitors are manufactured from tantalum for high reliability and clear filtering, and are suitable for power circuits of 4.5-5.5 V battery-operated handheld equipment such as mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, and digital cameras,” said Dan Lane, AVX Tantalum marketing manager. “The TLJ tantalum capacitor’s new design and clear piezo-free filtering makes the capacitor ideal for audio/video coupling applications, and thus brings additional dependability for microminiaturization in smaller, thinner designs for new electronic devices.”
The TLJ Series capacitor complies with RoHS industry requirements, and the component is ready for lead-free assembly systems up to 3x reflow with 260°C peak temperature. The capacitor offers an operating temperature range between -55 to +125°C.
