Becker to Support N.A. Ceramic Industry for Buhler (posted 3/6/09)

He will focus on the sale of grinding and dispersion equipment, processing systems and services to the North American ceramic industry.

Buhler Inc., the North American subsidiary of Switzerland-based Buhler AG, recently announced the appointment of John Becker to the position of account manager for Buhler’s Grinding and Dispersion Business Unit. He will focus on the sale of equipment, processing systems and services to the North American ceramic industry.

Becker was formerly with TOSOH USA, where he was responsible for grinding media and component sales. He holds a bachelor’s of science degree in ceramic engineering from Alfred University and a master’s of business administration degree from Baldwin Wallace College, and he has many years of experience in refractory sales and production.

“Backed by Buhler’s global technology team and my background of providing mills and grinding media to the ceramic industry, I am excited about this new opportunity to introduce Buhler to the U.S. ceramic industry,” said Becker. “Buhler has some real competitive advantages that allow cost-effective ceramic particle size reduction, such as better wear resistance and much higher flow rates. Considering the economic situation, this could not come at a better time, when higher productivity and lower operating costs can help producers improve the value of their products and, ultimately, improve their margins.”

Buhler intends to introduce its new Centex™ bead mill, which has been designed specifically for use in the ceramic industry, and its complete line of grinding and dispersion equipment, including the MicroMedia™ mill, 3-Roll mill, mixers and grinding media, to the ceramic industry.
