BIA Supports Natural Gas and Efficiency Provisions in Energy Bill

The Brick Industry Association (BIA) is urging a sensible reconciliation of the House and Senate energy bills that are currently in conference, and is pushing for responsible provisions that will serve to strengthen the nation's energy security. In a letter to members of the U.S. House of Representatives participating in the energy conference, BIA President Dick Jennison expressed strong support for provisions aiming to boost natural gas supplies, provide tax credits for the construction of energy efficient homes, and adoption of Bush Administration proposals to limit carbon dioxide emissions. "BIA is working aggressively to facilitate changes needed to preserve and strengthen our nation's energy security," said Jennison. "We hope that the Congress will reconcile these differences so that we all can benefit from a stronger and smarter energy future."
