Advantages of the new worm gear agitator drive units include a new design to facilitate superior oil drainage; no exposed drive parts; a 15:1 reduction (vs. 20:1), requiring less air consumption for the same output shaft speed; more complete mixing and particle suspension; a wide range of agitator models; the availability of fixed speed, variable speed and oscillating units; numerous shaft lengths and propeller styles available; and "backward compatibility" for easy upgrades to current and past pressure tanks.
