Bohlin Instruments has introduced a melt tension, or haul off, measurement apparatus that incorporates an automated spooling device for neat collection and storage of the extrudate. The new device is compatible with Bohlin's latest generation of Rosand capillary rheometers -- the RH7D and the RH10D -- and can be operated directly from the Rosand Flowmaster(TM) software. The automatic spooling feature avoids any tangling that might occur at high take up rates on a conventional pinch roller system. Interchangeable spools also allow easy management of extruded samples for other measurements, such as tensile testing.
