Brampton Brick Ltd. recently reported a loss of $4.4 million (Canadian, approximately $4.5 million U.S.) for the first quarter ended March 31, 2011, compared to a loss of $3.7 million (~ $3.9 million U.S.) for the first quarter of 2010.

Revenues for the quarter were $10.6 million (~ $10.9 million U.S.), compared to $12.1 million (~ $12.5 million U.S.) in 2010. The net decrease of $1.5 million (~ $1.5 million U.S.) was primarily due to lower clay brick shipments offset in part by higher shipments of concrete masonry products, and a small increase in revenues of the highly seasonal Landscape Products business segment.
