BTU International, Inc. has opened a new manufacturing facility in Shanghai, China. The plant, located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Pudong, will enable BTU to better serve the fast growing electronics assembly market in China and the rest of Asia. "This is a major milestone in the globalization of BTU's manufacturing operations," said Mark R. Rosenzweig, president and CEO. "We have long served the markets in China and the rest of Asia from our primary manufacturing center in the U.S., but given the rapid rate of growth of the Asia-Pacific electronics manufacturing industry, and resulting demand for our systems, we are now beginning production of our advanced Pyramax reflow ovens in Shanghai."
