action control over a range of 0 to 500F (-40 to 260C). No external
calibration devices are required. The overall length of the sensing
probe is 5 5/8 in., of which 3 3/4 in. is active and exposed to the
heat. According to the company, the unit operates on the basis of
deflection created in a probe comprised of two materials that have
different rates of thermal expansion. The motion created by the
slight deflection that results from a change in temperature is
translated from the probe to the switch, opening or closing the
circuit it controls.
