C5 Medical Werks Reaches Million Mark (posted 8/11/08)

C5 Medical Werks recently announced that it has shipped its one-millionth ceramic implantable component based on unit shipments.

C5 Medical Werks recently announced that, in June 2008, it shipped its one-millionth ceramic implantable component based on unit shipments to the orthopedic, brachytherapy and electro-implantable market segments. The company’s state-of-the-art facility, located in Grand Junction, Colo., produces ceramic components and assemblies for hip and knee joints, motion preservation/total disc replacement components used in spine surgery, and seeds for brachytherapy. Additional medical-grade ceramic implantables include crowns, bridges, abutments and implants for dental applications and electro-implantable devices such as cochlear implants, neuro-stimulators and neuro-sensors.

“Reaching this level of productivity in 2008 places us in an excellent position to capitalize on continued growth in the orthopedic, spinal, dental and custom ceramic component markets we serve worldwide,” said Andrew Nield, director of Sales and Marketing. “In addition, our extensive knowledge of ceramic materials allows us to quickly respond to the needs of our customers.”
