Ceradyne Celebrates 40th Anniversary (posted 8/27/07)

Ceradyne, Inc. recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of its founding on August 24, 1967. Joel P. Moskowitz, Ceradyne founder, chairman and chief executive officer, presided over a morning ceremony at the company’s corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa, Calif.

More than 1600 employees at the company’s North American facilities in California, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan and Canada were presented a special anniversary Coin of Excellence, which represents a military tradition recognizing service excellence. The Ceradyne Coin of Excellence recognizes each employee’s contribution to the company’s success. Moskowitz will lead a similar celebration at Ceradyne ESK in Kempten, Germany, on August 30, where ESK is celebrating its 85th anniversary.

“I am extremely grateful to the employees of Ceradyne who have contributed to the company’s continuing success,” said Moskowitz. “We’ve come a long way in building a diversified portfolio of advanced technical ceramics products for a multitude of applications -- some unimaginable 40 years ago -- and we have proven that ceramics, when engineered and manufactured to Ceradyne’s high standards, outperform traditionally accepted materials.”
