Ceradyne Opens Detroit Office

Ceradyne Inc. recently announced it has opened an office in Detroit, Mich., and hired Michael J. Kurilla to manage operations for that office. Kurilla has more than 20 years of experience in the automotive area, primarily with North American and global automotive suppliers supporting large U.S. automobile companies. "For some time, Ceradyne has believed that the market for its advanced technical ceramic products in the automotive arena could more rapidly be developed with an 'on the ground' presence in Detroit," said David Reed, vice president. "The opportunity to hire a manager with the vehicle-related experience of Michael Kurilla proved the catalyst for Ceradyne's decision to locate an office in Detroit to serve this high-potential market."
