Ceradyne, Inc. recently announced the promotion of Jeff Waldal, president of Ceradyne Semicon Associates, to the position of vice president, Ceradyne, Inc. He remains president of Semicon and directs operations, marketing and finance for that division's activities in ceramic impregnated dispenser cathodes and samarium cobalt permanent magnets. Waldal joined the company in 1995 as quality manager for Semicon, was promoted to Semicon manufacturing manager in 1997, and in 1999 was promoted to president of Semicon. His background includes R&D in nondestructive testing of new aerospace materials, production testing, quality control, and development of automated robotics for machining and inspecting jet engines.
