Ceradyne Receives $3.3 Million Order for Ceramic Body Armor

Ceradyne, Inc. recently announced it has received a $3.3 million order for its ceramic body armor ballistic plates. The order was issued by a government agency in order to protect certain "elite" military personnel. The order is scheduled for delivery from April through August 2002, and is one of a number of orders, or releases, that Ceradyne has received resulting from an indefinite quantity contract originally announced in March 1998. With indefinite quantity government contracts, the company records as an order only those releases indicating a firm delivery date. Joel Moskowitz, Ceradyne chief executive officer, commented: "We are pleased with this continuing flow of orders for ceramic body armor because it recognizes our reputation for a quality product and track record for timely delivery over the past three years. We believe this particular armor system represents the state-of-the-art in armor to protect our military against significant battlefield threats. In this time of national awareness of America's enemies and heightened defense needs, Ceradyne is proud to do its part."

Additional information about the company can be found at http://www.ceradyne.com.
