Ceradyne, Inc. recently received a new $5.1 million order for ceramic-armored seats for military vehicles used by certain elite U.S. troops. The order is scheduled for delivery beginning in October 2004 and completion in early 2005. "This order is particularly exciting for Ceradyne for two reasons," said Joel Moskowitz, chief executive officer. "First, it expands the range of uses for the company's ceramic-armor technology, which we believe creates a rugged, lightweight and efficient ballistic-protection system. Second, this order marks the company's further penetration into the market for military vehicle armor.
