Ceradyne, Inc. recently announced that Jerrold J. Pellizzon was named public company CFO of the Year by the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the California Society of CPAs. Pellizzon, a certified public accountant who joined Ceradyne in 2002, has reportedly been instrumental in the company’s fulfillment of sound fiscal management, domestic and international expansion, and financing objectives.
During his five-year tenure, Ceradyne’s annual revenue has increased 12-fold to $740 million generated through 15 manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and China. During this period, Pellizzon negotiated five acquisitions while also facilitating stock and debt offerings that raised $238 million, as well as securing a $160 million credit facility to fund growth via acquisitions and organic initiatives designed to diversify Ceradyne’s revenue stream and increase profitability.
“I am very proud of Jerry’s recognition by his peers in the California Society of CPAs for his outstanding performance on behalf of Ceradyne and its shareholders,” said Joel P. Moskowitz, Ceradyne chairman and chief executive officer. “His contributions have been pivotal to Ceradyne’s financial performance and success, and I congratulate him.”
“I am honored to receive this award,” said Pellizzon. “It’s a direct result of the superior performance from an outstanding team of people that I am fortunate to work with at Ceradyne.”
Pellizzon earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from UCLA. He has served on the board of directors of St. Mary’s & All Angels School, where he led the development of a $5.1 million campus addition that included science and music labs, classrooms, and a gymnasium.
