E. R. Advanced Ceramics has contracted with Ceramic Services, Inc. to add an afterburner system to its existing tunnel kiln. The new system provides clean air by completely combusting all of the organic materials released by the company's new filter product. The afterburner system is completely automatic and can be easily shut down when clean products are being fired. The shutdown does not require any changes to the exhaust system or to the firing of the tunnel kiln, and the system can be restarted by simply pushing a button. E. R. Advanced Ceramics' production capacity will be greatly enhanced by bringing the tunnel kiln online with the previously used periodic kiln.
