CeramTec North America Announces Personnel Appointments (posted 9/10/08)

Mark Duchnak has joined the company as national sales manager, and Eddie Lu has been named a hermetic sales engineer.

CeramTec North America recently announced that Mark Duchnak has joined the company as national sales manager. “We are proud to welcome Mark to the CeramTec team and are excited by the years of knowledge and experience he brings to CeramTec,” said Michael Mueller, president.

Before joining CeramTec, Duchnak worked for seven years with Morgan Advanced Ceramics, Inc. as sales and business development manager. While at Morgan, he was responsible for the sales of wear-resistant glass for bar code scanners and diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings into various markets, including high-performance racing, medical and scientific instrumentation.

Prior to working with Morgan, Duchnak served as district sales manager for Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, Inc., where he managed a sales team to grow refractory sales in the Southeastern sales territory. He was also awarded a patent, along with two colleagues, for the development of a closed-loop foamy slag system. Duchnak is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in ceramic engineering and a master’s of business administration degree.

In addition, Eddie Lu has joined the company as a hermetic sales engineer in China. Before joining CeramTec, Lu served for four years as an account manager for Suzhou Electronics Co., Ltd., a sales center for Ireland’s Electronics Product Services (EPS). While at Suzhou Electronics, Lu was responsible for maintaining key account customers and promoting a new customer base. He was instrumental in acquiring a contract with Netapps for server storage, expansion flash and design, and he led his sales team to exceed their targets, with an average annual sales growth rate of more than 20%.

Previous to working with Suzhou, Lu served as a sales engineer/account manager for Camtek Suzhou Co., Ltd. He is a graduate of Luo Yang Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical engineering.
