The Craft Emergency Relief Fund is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
The Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+) was created 25 years ago with one primary goal: to help artists in need. Over the years, its programs have supported struggling artists by assisting with the financial burden caused by unexpected emergencies. CERF+ also provides educational resources for career development and connects professionals in the arts to one another.
Since 2010 marks the organization's 25th anniversary, special events are taking place this year. First of all, many well-known artists have donated unique craft works to an online charity auction event. The auction, which will take place through September 25, will donate all proceeds to CERF+ programs and services. The organization is also planning a Celebration Reunion at Snow Farm in Williamsburg, Mass., on September 25 and 26. At the reunion, CERF+ artists, trustees, staff, and friends will gather for dinner and dancing on Saturday, followed by a visioning session for the future of CERF+ on Sunday.
