Cersaie Sets Multiple Attendance Records (10/17/06)

Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tiles and Bathroom Furniture, which was held last month in Bologna, Italy, set new records for total attendance, foreign attendance and number of accredited journalists. A total of 90,949 visitors converged on the exhibition center during the five days of the show, a 2.7% increase over 2005 and the highest figure since Cersaie became a five-day event. Of the 1060 exhibitors, 214 were foreign companies from 32 different countries, while the number of foreign attendees amounted to 26,411, 6.8% more than the 24,711 of 2005. This brings the share of foreign visitors to 29%, the highest figure for a Bologna tradeshow and one of the highest at a national level. The third record is the figure for journalists and information professionals, which passed the 600 mark for the first time since the first edition (total number of accredited journalists 604).

Next year's Cersaie will be held October 2-6 in Bologna. This special 25th anniversary edition will feature a packed program to celebrate the show's quarter-century of history. For additional information, visit www.cersaie.it.
