Artist Sandra Luehrsen will lead a Clay and Print Workshop September 16 at the Shemer Art Center and Museum in Phoenix, Ariz. Registrants are instructed to bring their own handmade or commercial fired and glazed pottery. During the workshop, each student will learn how to apply custom-designed decals (such as photos, drawings or paintings) to the glazed surfaces. Objects with white or very light glazes will be most appropriate, but colored glazes may present an interesting and rewarding challenge.
The Shemer Art Center and Museum has been an important part of the Phoenix art community since 1984. In addition to a variety of unique exhibitions by Arizona artists, the city-owned center offers seasonal workshops and classes for students of all ages. It was chosen as one of Phoenix’s Points of Pride in the early 1990s and continues to be a great cultural resource for the local community. For more information, visit
