CoorsTek Armor Solutions Holds Grand Opening (posted 2/20/09)

Established in June 2008, CoorsTek Armor Solutions provides lightweight armor panels for leading vehicle manufacturers within the U.S.

CoorsTek Armor Solutions, the newest subsidiary of CoorsTek, Inc. and a leading provider of integrated armor solutions for ground vehicles, aircraft, and marine crafts, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its state-of-the-art facility in Golden, Colo., on February 17. Attendees included Congressman Ed Perlmutter; Congressman Mike Coffman; Golden Mayor Jacob Smith; and several CoorsTek and CoorsTek Armor Solutions officers, including John K. Coors, president, chairman, and chief executive officer of CoorsTek, and other delegates.

“CoorsTek Armor Solutions offers superior lightweight armor products for vehicle manufacturers throughout the United States to protect our brave men and women in the armed services,” said Coors. “We also expect the local community to benefit from the creation of jobs as our business expands.”

Established in June 2008, CoorsTek Armor Solutions (CTAS) provides next-generation lightweight armor panels made with CoorsTek technical ceramic and other proprietary materials for leading vehicle manufacturers exclusively within the U.S. Using advanced materials like silicon carbide, high-density alumina, transparent ceramic, and other hybrid materials, CTAS operates out of two state-of-the-art facilities, one in Golden and the other in Ogdensburg, N.Y. DEW Engineering and Development, another CoorsTek subsidiary also providing integrated armor components and located in Canada, serves customers outside the U.S.
