CoorsTek, Inc. recently announced that it has entered into an agreement with Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp. to license Ball's U.S. patent number 5,245,745, which relates to the production of ceramic patch antennae. This patent covers the basic technology needed to produce antennae for GPS, guidance systems, and vehicular safety and security. Under the terms of the agreement, CoorsTek will utilize this patented technology to manufacture antennae for its customers in the aerospace, defense, electronics and transportation industries. Through this arrangement, CoorsTek will be able to produce antennae elements from its wide range of proprietary ceramic compositions. CoorsTek's compositional and configurational capabilities enable the company to engineer solutions for most high reliability antenna requirements. In addition, the combination of CoorsTek's materials expertise and Ball Aerospace's technology will yield elements that are readily tunable, stable and have excellent response characteristics.
