Cormack Named Dean Of Alfred's School Of Engineering

Alastair N. Cormack, Ph.D. has been appointed dean of the School of Engineering.

Alastair N. Cormack, Ph.D., the Van Derck Frechette Professor of Ceramic Science and director of the Graduate School at Alfred University, has been appointed dean of the School of Engineering. He served as interim dean during the 2003-2004 school year and has been instrumental in melding the four degree programs from the School of Ceramic Engineering and Materials Science and two programs from the School of Engineering and Professional Studies into a single academic unit. "Not only is Dr. Cormack an internationally known and respected educator and researcher, but he has done an outstanding job of making our School of Engineering into a single, cohesive unit with the help and support of the engineering faculty and staff," said David Szczerbacki, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic and statutory affairs.
