Corning Inc. recently introduced Corning Gorilla® Glass 2 at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, including live demonstrations at the Corning booth. Gorilla Glass 2 is the next generation of the widely deployed damage-resistant cover glass for consumer electronic devices. This new glass enables up to a 20% reduction in cover glass thickness, without sacrificing the performance consumers have come to expect from the world’s most widely deployed strengthened cover glass.

“Corning Gorilla Glass has enjoyed tremendous market adoption in the high-growth mobile handset and computing device market, providing a replacement for plastic and legacy soda-lime glass as a protective cover and elegant design solution,” said James R. Corning also recently announced its continuing collaboration with Acer Inc., which plans to use the new Gorilla Glass 2 on new computing devices to be released this year.
