Alcoa recently announced that David C. Dobson joined the company effective January 1, 2004, as president of Alcoa Engineered Products, the Alcoa business that supplies extruded aluminum products to customers worldwide. He succeeds Veronica M. (Ronee) Hagen, who was named chief customer officer for Alcoa last June. Dobson comes to Alcoa from Fisher Scientific Ltd., where he had been vice president of the research division since 2003. Previously, he worked for more than 20 years for General Electric Co. in key leadership positions in several GE businesses, including business development manager for the automotive sales and marketing group for GE Plastics, general manager of motors and controls for GE Industrial Systems, and president of North America for the GE Lighting business.
