E.I.D. Parry (India) Ltd. recently purchased a Sacmi STK 300/91.14 tunnel kiln capable of firing 3000 pieces a day on a 12-hour cycle. Installed and started up at the company's sanitaryware plant, this is reportedly the first kiln in India to be fitted with the latest temperature control systems. With high-speed open flame burners, the kiln also features an electrical system with a PC that monitors and controls every cycle parameter (manual control can also be used). Temperature uniformity and parameter control across all kiln zones allow the user to produce high-quality sanitaryware items with a very low percentage of breakages, compared to products fired inside traditional brickwork tunnel kilns.
