Engelhard Buys O.Hommel's Ceramic Coating Business

Engelhard Corp. recently announced that it has acquired the ceramic coating business of O.Hommel Co.

Engelhard Corp. recently announced that it has acquired the ceramic coating business of Pittsburgh-based O.Hommel Co. The new business is complementary to Engelhard's existing glass coatings line and will allow the company to offer customers a wider range of products and technologies. The O.Hommel ceramic coating business has an international customer base for glass-fired enamels and other glass coating products that serve the automotive, decorative, flat and specialty glass industries. The business is respected within the glass, ceramic, plastic and metal industries for both its technological innovations and its product performance. "The addition of O.Hommel's ceramic business gives Engelhard a unique ability to serve customers in the automotive glass and decorative glass industries from one source," says Paul Hameleers, business manager of Engelhard's Engineered Coatings group. "This dynamic combination of coating resources will yield immediate efficiencies and produce advanced products in the near term." The company's website is located at http://www.engelhard.com.
