Engelhard Selected for Hong Kong Diesel Retrofit Program

Engelhard Corp. technology has been selected for use in one of the world's largest diesel engine retrofit programs, and Engelhard's distributor is the only company to qualify as a supplier of emission-control systems for all five engine types covered by the Hong Kong initiative. Approximately 30,000 delivery vans, sanitation trucks, pieces of construction equipment and other diesel vehicles will be fitted with diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) technology under the program administered by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Government rebates will cover the entire cost of the retrofit equipment and its installation. "We're proud to be a part of this historic effort," said Edmund A. Stanczak, Jr., Engelhard's group vice president and general manager of Environmental Technologies. "Engelhard technology is a major contributor to improved air quality around the world, and we're excited to apply our expertise to helping Hong Kong meet its ambitious diesel clean-up goals."
