Engineered Pressure Systems, Inc. (EPSI) recently received an Engineering Excellence Award from NDK Crystal, Inc., a manufacturer of quartz crystal electronic components, in appreciation for the design and installation of eight hydrothermal crystal growing systems and supporting auxiliary equipment. EPSI custom designed the vessels to integrate with NDK's existing synthetic quartz crystal manufacturing operation. With the installation of EPSI's unique hydrothermal crystal growing systems, NDK will only use 70% of the energy that the facility originally used to run the systems. "We are thrilled to be the recipient of this award," said Gary Nelson, vice president of EPSI. "Being honored for designing the most efficient state-of-the-art autoclaves in the world further shows our dedication to our customers and the industry."
