The supervisory board of Almatis (DIC Almatis Equityco Coöperatief U.A.) has appointed Helmut Eschwey as its new non-executive chairman. Eschwey brings significant professional and corporate governance experience that augments the supervisory board’s capability in monitoring and advising the management board of Almatis. Membership of the supervisory board includes Sylvain Denis, Simon Edwards, Alan Hyslop and Maissan Al Maskati.

Until recently, Eschwey was chairman on the board of management of Heraeus Holding GmbH. Currently, he is a member of the supervisory board of Altana AG, a member of the advisory board of Deutsche Bank AG and a member of the board of trustees of the European Business School’s Business Ethics Institute. Between 2005 and 2007, Eschwey served as director of Novelis Inc., a spin-off from Alcan.
