Ferro's new RoHS-compliant silver and gold HIC conductor materials meet existing high-performance requirements for automotive, medical, military, and telecom applications while providing a systems approach to "green" manufacturing. Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of January 27, 2003, requires the substitution of heavy metals and other hazardous substances in new electrical and electronic equipment put on the market after July 1, 2006. Ferro's new RoHS-compliant product line currently includes three single-layer silver conductor materials and two single-layer gold conductors. Gold multi-layer conductors are in development and will soon be commercially available as well.
