A newly commissioned kiln at Akron Porcelain & Plastics Co. is showing actual fuel consumption of about 45% lower than the tunnel kiln it replaced. The new kiln, designed and installed by GFC Kilns, employs the company's IMPS® control system, which has produced savings for many clients worldwide. The IMPS system, which is installed on all new GFC kilns and is also offered as an upgrade for older kilns, often provides savings in fuel that can offset the capital cost of the system in less than a few years (the amount of savings depends on the project details).
