GLASSPEX INDIA 2011, the second international exhibition for glass production, processing and products, which took place in January in Mumbai, India, featured some 176 exhibitors (compared to 139 exhibitors in 2009) from 19 countries. More than 4072 visitors (compared to 3200 visitors in 2009) from 31 nations took part in the event, which had the support of glasstec, the world‘s largest trade fair for the glass industry and is organized every two years in Düsseldorf, Germany, by Messe Düsseldorf. The company organized GLASSPEX INDIA 2001 with its Messe Düsseldorf India subsidiary.

The second Glass Performance Days India (GPD) took place January 11-12 and focused on challenges facing the Indian market, such as glass architecture, flat glass, and solar technology. Also taking place at the event was the First Solar Industry Summit India conference, which focused on development, financing and realization of production facilities, the latest production technologies, the international solar power market, and the current quality assurance standards. This technical conference, organized in cooperation with Solarpraxis AG, was attended by about 100 representatives from Indian and international solar power companies, suppliers, and investors.
