Global Equipment Marketing Inc.: Electro Magnetic Filters

A major problem continuously facing the ceramic industry is the elimination of iron contamination in the glaze and slip processes, usually from iron bearing minerals used for ceramics, machinery wear or oxidation. Unwanted ferrous particles increase the chance of structural and cosmetic defects in the manufactured products, resulting in costly rejects. The MASTERMAG high intensity electromagnetic filter from Global Equipment Marketing Inc. (GEM) is designed to overcome this problem by continuous removal of ferrous particles from liquid based applications, particularly ceramic slips and glazes, and is designed to handle from 12 to 238 GPM. Filters are fitted with an auto backflush system on a timed cycle to enhance performance and prevent clogging, and have proven to be particularly successful where superior quality ceramics are required.
