Cheryl Richards, market development manager, Thermosets products for PPG Industries' fiber glass business, has been elected president of the Glass Manufacturing Industry Council (GMIC) for 2004. Richards, who started in fiber glass research with PPG in 1989, has been involved with GMIC since 2001, serving as vice president in 2003 in preparation for her 2004 presidency. GMIC is the only trade association serving the U.S. glass industry as a whole, including members representing all four industry sectors: flat, container, fiber and specialty glass.
