W. R. Grace & Co. recently announced that its German subsidiary, Grace Bauprodukte GmbH, has acquired certain assets of Tricosal Beton-Chemie GmbH & Co. KG (TC-BC), located in Lugde and Essen, Germany. TC-BC has been a leading supplier of specialty chemicals and materials to the European construction industry, with revenues of approximately 21 million euros in 2002. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. TC-BC's products include concrete and masonry admixtures, cement grinding aids, surface retarders, release agents, and specialty mortars and grouts. The acquisition expands Grace's presence in Germany and central Europe and will be integrated into Grace's Specialty Construction Chemicals business, a unit of Grace Performance Chemicals.
