H.C. Starck recently announced that, beginning October 15, 2008, the BAYMETEC® range of ultra-pure products for the semiconductor and lighting industries will be marketed under the name AMPERTEC™. The name change is necessary because, though all patent rights for BAYMETEC products are with H.C. Starck, the naming rights are retained by the Bayer Group. “Beyond that, everything remains the same for our customers,” said Stephan Kirchmeyer, Ph.D., vice president of H.C. Starck’s Electronics and Optics Business Unit.
Based on metals, alloys and compounds of tungsten, tantalum, niobium and molybdenum, these products are used in the production of sputtering targets (PVD), as well as in CVD and lighting applications. For additional information, visit www.ampertec.info.
