Hauck Manufacturing Co. has developed the SERamic, a new radiant tube gas burner. Fabricated using a newly developed technology, the SERamic's radiant tube, recuperator and combustor are constructed from high heat resistant silicon carbide ceramic. Flame exits from the combustor at high velocity, entraining large volumes of exhaust gas, which promotes recirculation through the inner tube. This process results in reduced NOx emissions and improved temperature uniformity of the outer radiant tube. The burner's internal recuperator provides for maximum efficiency, resulting in fuel savings. Available in three sizes ranging from 100,000 Btu/hr (29 kW) to 400,000 Btu/hr (117 kW), the burner can be fired in vertical or horizontal configuration.
