This company’s new product development test furnace offers load simulation; automatic pressure controlled capability; and the ability to be fired using natural gas, light or heavy fuel oil, and liquid propane. The maximum operating temperature is 2400°F. The inside chamber is 9 x 17 x 6 ft, and the side walls and roof are composed of 12-in. thick ceramic fiber modules. There are 34 silicon carbide air tubes at the furnace walls for load simulation. Exhaust gas testing capability exists for NOx (ppm), CO (ppm), H2C2 (ppm), and percent O2. According to the company, the load simulation capability in the new furnace will facilitate the development of new low emission burner technologies.
