HED International recently commissioned an upgrade of a calcining furnace in Charleston, S.C., with the addition of a new combustion system, a ceramic muffle, PLC and touchscreen HMI control panel. "The result is a furnace that is performing great; firing uniformity is excellent," said John Steele, HED project manager. "We're pleased that production has doubled without much more fuel consumption, and everyone is breathing a lot easier now that the air is cleaner because dusting is no longer a problem from this furnace."
